The Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanties open for the 2019 season, Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
Visitors will find something handmade, hand designed or hand crafted by local artists in two locations along the Walkway-to-the-Sea, at the Harbor Overlook, 51 Ocean Street and Bismore Park, 180 Ocean Street, Hyannis.
The Artist Shanties are open weekends Friday, May 3 through Sunday, June 9, including Monday of Memorial Day weekend, then seven days a week through the fall.
Artists change weekly throughout the season. Discover new faces and artwork each week.
New this year at the Harbor Overlook:
Food vendors offer tasty treats on various days throughout the season including during the ‘Live Lunch’ program: 11:30am to 1:30pm, every Monday and Friday.
Starting Friday, May 3.
Grab a snack and take in the sights and sounds as local musicians rotate throughout the season during this program and during the Thursday singer spotlight series.
Every Saturday, May 4 through end of August, Sam Holmstock, one of the co-founders of the world fusion ensemble ENTRAIN, will facilitate a free drum circle each week, 4:00pm -6:00pm! Drumming and rhythm is so much fun and accessible to all. No experience necessary. Reduce stress, increase mindfulness and have fun!
The Town run artist shanty program provides affordable rental space for Cape Cod artists and artisans to work and sell at these “seaside studios”. This program provides prime visibility and opportunities for artists to gain and improve business, marketing and selling skills, connect with other artists and meet visitors from around the region and the world.
PARK AND WALK: It is easy to spend art-FULL days in downtown Hyannis HyArts Cultural District, Complementary and metered parking lots are steps away from Main Street & Hyannis Harbor. Visit the artist shanties, Main Street Hyannis, museums, shops, restaurants and more, all walkable from the surrounding public parking lots.

Weekends, Friday May 3 through Sunday June 9:
Friday-Sunday: 11:00am – at least 6:00pm & open Monday, Memorial Day
Seven days a week: June 10 through Columbus Day, Monday October 14, 2019
Weekends, October and November and December select weekend programs.
Over 95 artists will participate in the 2019 program.
Artwork varies and includes photography, jewelry, painting, fiber arts, glass, ceramics, rope work, mosaics, woodworking, window art, and so much more.
Artists rotate weekly throughout the season.
